The commitment to research, science and technology as driving forces of this transformation lies in bringing together and promoting the agents devoted to R&D, in retaining and attracting research talent and in transmitting the knowledge generated for the competitive improvement of the business fabric, which generates wealth and skilled jobs.
Therefore, Fomento de San Sebastián places R&D at the centre of its transversal strategy to boost the economic sectors, both the more traditional ones and those that are emerging strongly and will become the driving force of the local economy, such as the audiovisual, renewable energies and energy efficiency sectors, the support solutions for the quality of life or surfing; sectors with which Fomento de San Sebastián is working intensely through its clustering strategy.
Likewise, this support for R&D comes to fruition in the Talent House Integral Reception Plan, a project to support the attraction and reception of research talent in the city, which via its different services (accommodation, information, procedures, schooling…) must support their integration and professional development, as well as the dissemination of the knowledge generated and the opening up of lines of work with the actual research/technology centres and other institutions focused on the generation of innovation.
In this challenge, collaboration with all the agents linked to the knowledge and innovation is a key element.
